Belle Epoque Year:1891 Artist: Maximilien Luce
Title and text: Mévisto, each night at La Scala (music hall).
Jules Mévisto or Mévisto the Elder was born in Paris in 1857 and died in 1915. He was a café-concert singer, French pantomime actor and songwriter. He was called Mévisto l'Aîné (the Elder) to distinguish him from his younger brother (by 2 years) Auguste who also chose the artist name Mévisto and was called Mévisto le Jeune. (the Younger). 74
