Artist's Description

Newly restored in 2017 from a, 1895 advertising poster.
Belle époque advertisement, a very fine art nouveau poster drawing from Belgium. 1895 Fernand Toussaint, originally printed by O. De Rycker of Brussels Summary: An advertising, featuring a typical art nouveau dreamy type women figure for Le Sillon. Le Sillon ("The Furrow", or "The Path") was a French political and religious movement founded by Marc Sangnier (1873 - 1950) which existed from 1894 to 1910. It aimed to bring Catholicism into a greater conformity with French Republican and socialist ideals, in order to provide an alternative to Marxism and other anticlerical labour movements.. Fernand Toussaint was a Belgian painter, born in Brussels in 1873 and died in Ixelles in 1956, who is, next to flowers, seascapes and posters, appreciated for his society portraits full of elegance. By some he was called "the undisputed master of the grace and charm of women."

Because, make no mistake, restoration is an art and a craft. No fancy magic software, but pixel by pixel cleaning and...
