Text: Theatre de l'Opera, Saturday January 22, grand party at the Opera, masked ball. A scarcely dressed woman is being courted by a high hat and tuxedo gentleman. Year: 1897 Artist: Jules Cheret Jules Cheret (May 31, 1836 – September 23, 1932) was a French painter and lithographer who became a master of Belle Époque poster art. He has been called the father of the modern poster.
