Eugenie Buffet, born in 1866 in Tlemcen (Algeria) and died in Paris in 1934, was a French singer of music hall and variety, known as the “National cricket.” She is portrayed here, in a winter scene, with artistic bohémien clothes, a little bit shaggy it seems, and with penetrating green eyes.
Lucien-Marie-François Metivet (1863 – 1930) was a French painter, poster artist and illustrator. He was a friend of Paul Nadar and Toulouse-Lautrec.
