Description
Retouched and restored from a well animated late 1890s postcard from a ca 1885-1890 cliché.
People, horse taxis and horse carts, a brewer cart transporting bock beer from Munich, the Grand Hotel St Jean to the left, there’s a lot to be seen.
The station was built in March 1846 as the first Brussels-North station (the first station ever in Brussels, ‘Groendreef’, was built as early as1835), designed by F. Coppens and situated on Rogier Place, ver near to the current town center. It had 27 tracks.
